Week 9

             The day started with the class reading the note on the board. The note said, “Dear class, hello boys and girls, please unpack then sort and write. Love, Mrs. Crump” The students had to correct the grammar mistakes in the sentence as a class after the students did their sort. Next the students did their word sorts. There were three different groups of sorts.

            Next, the class worked on spelling tricky words on their personal whiteboards. The tricky words will be on their spelling test on Friday. Then they had to spell nonsense words. This activity worked on sounding words out. 

            After spelling, the students did daily 5 activities. There were 4 rounds of daily 5 activities, read to someone, read to self, computer/listening activities and word work boxes. 

            Next the students went to P.E. and when the students got back from P.E. I did a writing mini lesson about describing words. When the mini lesson was over, the students did calendar time. 

            Next the students went to lunch. After lunch the students did math centers. There were three rounds of math centers, worksheets, math boxes (games) and an activity with Mrs. Crump. Next students went to music class. 

           When the students got back from music class, they had writers workshop where they got to work on their personal books. This was the last activity of the day, so students cleaned up and lined up to leave.

           The students worked very hard today and learned a lot! I can't wait for next week to see what new things the students learn.
